Moving litter tray

my kitty’s litter tray is currently in the living room but due to re arranging I need to move it to the kitchen. I have put her old one in the kitchen and keep showing her it but she just won’t go in it.
I still have one in the living room which I have been trying to move gradually into the kitchen but as soon as it moves further she wees on the carpet!
Any advice would be appreciated before new carpets are fitted 🫣

Could you move the tray but also put something like a deterrent in the space where it was? I've read peppermint oil /eucalyptus (add to water and spray). I do that on the hall carpets they like to pull at..

I have been to pets at home to but a spray so hopefully that will work 🙏🏼
