Cat overwhelmed by me drawing

New year new hobby! I've chosen art, it's not gone down well with his highness.

The wiggly pencils and paintbrushes means he attacks them. Then me!!

He doesn't deal well with closed doors sadly, part ragdoll.

Amy ideas on how not to get attacked??

I initially misread this thread title as Cat overwhelmed me by drawing 🤣.
That aside, the only thing you can try is to do your art when he's asleep elsewhere.
Could be worse btw - just try knitting when cats are around.

Ha that sounds dangerous!

Time!!! Honestly my cat thought WFH was an endless pen adventure - he's now totally desensitised to them and no longer attacks. Took a few weeks, I just distracted him with an actual toy every time he came over or put the pen down totally. Fingers crossed for you! 😊

Sorry - I'm also here the cat with overwhelmingly outstanding artist talent 🤣

My cat also used to bat wiggly pens and pencils. Fortunately not much more than that (which actually was unusual; she was a very nervous bite-y cat). But, closing doors and/or moving to a higher surface out of the way was an option for us. Sorry - can't help.

Today he was furious because he wasn't allowed to push the water pot off the table, I got bitten again! He's normally adorable honest.

I'd waited until he'd finished grooming and gotten comfy. I should have waited longer!

I thought from the thread title that you had drawn the cat, and he had been overwhelmed by the beauty of your painting and how well you had captured his unique personality.

Actually I think you should do this. Cat art is the best art.

Ha, I'm definitely good enough for him to be overwhelmed by my drawing.

He was impressed with the flicker thing on the end of the rubber though!
