Lethargic Kitten.

My kitten was born in early September(date escapes me but before 10th) .I’ve never had a pet of any sort so I’m not sure what to expect. The last few days (4?) she seems lethargic and bored. She’s eating but huge amounts in one go once rather than 4 snacks. She’s not interested in toys and has stopped ‘zooming’. Is she just a teenager?

Not at four months old. Is she fully vaccinated? Spayed? Allowed out?

Wolfiefan
vaccinated, never left the house, booked in to be spayed in8 weeks

Any signs of her being in heat? I know it can start very very early! We rescued a 2 year old cat and her 18 month kitten. 😱

*Wolfiefan” I’m ashamed to say I don’t know - she just looks bored. She’s eating but in huge quantities once a day rather than small meals. She’s sleeping 22 hour a day and doesn’t play anymore. Maybe kittens stop faffing toys they’ve had for weeks. She’s just not the kitten I’ve known since I brought her home in November. She seems a bit sad.

I would get a vet check (but I am a worrier!!) Kittens should be playful and naughty!!

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 15/01/2023 22:35

I’d get her vetted too.

I agree, vet visit. My kittens didn't calm down until they were about 12 months old.
Hope she's ok

She’s being a bit more friendly tonight with my kids. Still not interested in toys or shoe laces, but not sleeping non stop, which feels a bit less worrying. A week ago she was cheerfully playing fetch to order over and over and dropping her toy back at our feet reliably for another throw - today she wouldn’t even chase it, just watched it. All zoomies have stopped. She still puts and ears, but looks bored of everything.
