Cat peeing in house

I have two cats one of them a 12 year old girl.
What she seems to be doing is falling asleep on the spare room bed very very soundly then waking up suddenly and it being too late to go to the litter tray.
Then she accidentally does a massive pee where she has been asleep.
I'm sure she isn't doing it on purpose because she is very good at going out and using the indoor litter tray when she is awake.
She only does it once every few weeks.
My house is set up for this kind of thing because I've had old cats before who can't make it to the loo in time. I've got waterproof under sheets on the beds and an aquavac. But this is a HUGE pee.
I'm going to take her to the vets in a week for full blood tests to see if there is anything going on, otherwise she seems really well and is eating and drinking normally.
I'm wondering if she just has a weak bladder or something. Maybe kidney disease.
Anyone experienced this?
