A slight update regarding Peppa the kitten

Hi guys

It is me, softplayfail the owner of little orphan Peppa. I had my phone thrown in the bath by my little toddler of delight and I have a new one. Unfortunately I couldn't remember the password or email address so thought fuck it and started a new one

We had a bereavement in the family hence the long delay in replying.
Unfortunately I have returned with a sad update

Bingo was still hiding under the wardrobe and we managed to tempt him out. We noticed he was very bloated and very quiet so we rang our vets who thought he might have worms. Unfortunately he had FIV more than likely passed on from his mother and there was no outward symptoms except the bloating which only really appeared overnight almost. They did an ultrasound of his belly and plenty of bloods and exams but he had blood in his tummy and we decided to let him go. We were and still are absolutely distraught and I am amazed at how much a small bundle of fluff wormed his way into my heart overnight

As for Peppa...
He is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen and he is off to the vets on Wednesday for his neutering. Or as we call it Peppas day out so he doesn't get suspicious.
He's crazy. Almost 2 kilos now.
I have posted some photos of Peppa

I was wanting to update for a while but Christmas with a toddler and a kitten was well manic

Hope all goes well today. Love that you have been referring to it as Peppa day out. You are a true cat slave!

One of ours went loopy after the anaesthetic and decided to splash around in the water bowl, growling. Another decided to lie on the fish tank and then was sick into it.

Good luck!

Toddlerteaplease · 11/01/2023 11:42

Sounds like Peppa is already pretty loopy! 😻😻😻

Dropped him off this morning. Toddler cried all morning thinking we'd got rid of him. Literally clinging to the door screaming Peppa. That was fun. Offered bribes to the grandparents to take her out before I exploded.
Anyway had the call from the vets
He's neutered. He's no longer the full male cat. I paid for all the pre tests because with bingo I'm taking no risks. Anyway he's as healthy as a horse
Collecting him in an hour
Apparently he's walking like he's swigged 5 pints
Photo coming tonight

The bond between your daughter and Peppa is so sweet. Hope all is well.

Florissant · 11/01/2023 16:42

Hi, OP. Sorry to hear of your bereavement and the bad news about Bingo.

Glad to hear, though, that Peppa has come through surgery like a pro.

peppareturns · 11/01/2023 18:11

Why are Peppas eyes like wide as wide can be? Is he high as a kite still? I'm trying to get a photo but he isn't playing ball

Yes. Yes, he most certainly is... 😂

iloveeverykindofcat · 11/01/2023 18:20

Do his pupils look like this?

(She had ankle surgery a couple of years ago. She's completely fine now).

This pic is saved on my phone as 'Zara high'.

It's the ketamine, keep him away from stairs or steps until it wears off. When his eyes go back to normal he's ok. They usually crash after that.

Poor toddler.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/01/2023 20:05

Yep mine have been like this after surgery!

Toddlerteaplease · 12/01/2023 10:53

How's Peppa this morning?

Poor toddler.

Harry was a nightmare after ketamine and we ended up telling the vet he wasn't to have it any more as it took 4 or 5 days for him to be back to normal.

Peppa is gorgeous and I have no idea how I missed the first threads! I love that you called it Peppa's day out - I say Harry is going to see his Uncle Aaron (or whoever the vet is), I don't want to give him a heads up!

I am trying to post a photo but my new phone won't let me look at any photos from the recent weeks

He's fine. Walking a bit funny still but he's absolutely perfect

Glad to hear he's doing ok. Can't wait for photos when the new phone starts behaving itself!

Florissant · 14/01/2023 10:18

Glad to hear the update, OP!

WoofWoofBeachLife · 18/03/2023 21:05

Toddlerteaplease · 23/05/2023 16:43

@peppareturns how's he doing?

Florissant · 23/05/2023 17:03

I often think of Peppa and his pet human, The Toddler.
