Cat flap - to keep cat safe

Hi could anyone recommend a cat flap for my cat only. Another cat is getting in ours at night and attacking our cat- the kitchen is full of fur this morning.

Thanks

Your options are:

  1. A microchip catflap. Unfortunately my cat wouldn’t use this but it works for many.
  2. Lock your cat flap overnight every night forever, and give your cat a litter tray.
  3. Set your cat flap on one way so the aggressor can enter but not exit. Lock your own cat in a different part of house (with litter tray) for a few nights. When the aggressor eventually comes in and gets trapped in your house, shout and chase and throw a cup of water at it before letting it out.

I went for option 3 and never saw the aggressor again. Cats don’t return to a location where they were trapped and scared. It does sound psycho I know and is hard for a cat lover to do but 🤷‍♀️ so are cat injuries.
