Change in Behaviour

Hi there.

I'm looking for some advice really, being relatively new to owning cats.

I have a 1.5 year old cat (female) and a 15 week old kitten (male) They have always got along very well, however during the past few days the older female cat has changed and is behaving aggressively towards the kitten. She is going out of her way to hiss at him, growl and bat at him, even if he's fast asleep. This is not all the time but seems to be happening more frequently and we haven't noticed them playing as much.

Tonight she has started hissing at us when we go to stroke her (though in the kitchen where she's fed she is very loving!) But she is choosing to sit with us, rather than taking herself off upstairs.

She has also recently wanted to be covered up by things, ie a blanket. The house doesn't feel cold and we have the heating on, she isn't going to the radiators, so I doubt she's cold, but she's wanting to be "hidden."

She went for a health check 2 weeks ago and the vet said she was in good health.

Does anyone have any ideas on what may be happening or what may have caused her change in behaviour?

Thanks in advance!

I wonder if your boys hormones are beginning to emerge and she can sense it. Presume he's booked for the snip
In the future.

@Toddlerteaplease
I think that's what it must be. He is booked in, yes 🙂 Hopefully that will solve our issues. She has been a bit friendlier and more playful with him today, so who knows!
