Need help cat lovers about a chinchilla persian cat

Desperate to get one, very responsible, SAHM mum so will be there for the new addition regularly etc just concerned I have a 1 year old

And considering another baby end of next year.

Am I crazy? Or is this type of cat a great option. Any pros or cons or any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Persians are brilliant cats. Though not very cat like. I got mine from a rescue and the lady who runs it thinks that Chinchillas are not as friendly as normal Persians. My friend has a golden chinchilla from the rescue and she is a real grump to everyone but her human. Though we do think she's had some sort of trauma in the past.

Her eyes are huge and really bright green. And she has her eyeliner on!

If you have a toddler. Don't get a kitten as they are too small to be left unsupervised round a kitten. Get an adult. But I'd probably wait till the kids are older.

I'd get a Persian for sure but wait till the kids are older. Mine is a bit afraid of kids and finds them stressful.

I don't think either of mine would particularly like to be around young children either.

@CatsAreWonderful completely agree. My exotic is less high maintenance than my long hair. But she is incredibly needy and wants cuddles all the time. As to high places, it can be tricky as they don't jump higher than my bed. Kitchen units are safe!

Hi, I have 2 chinchilla Persian kittens, I have had them about 3 months now. They are very loving and I think getting 2 together is a good idea if that’s an option for you, as my two are very bonded and love to play together and snuggle up for sleep. Mine have been fine with visiting little ones, as with any pet you need to teach the children to be gentle, and to ensure the cats have an escape route if they need one! I brush mine every day, it only takes a few minutes, and as they have a less flat face they don’t need their eyes doing daily. We absolutely love our boys and can’t imagine life without them 😻😻
