Quick reminder of dangers for our Overlords/Ladies at Xmas time. I know much of this is teaching grandmothers etc., but I know we have quite a few new cat guardians on here.
Poinsettias are poisonous to cats - I was shocked a few years ago when a cat owning neighbour gave me one! So are most berries like Mistletoe & holly, and a few other favorite seasonal flowers like lillies.
Glass baubles can shatter into very tiny sharp shards, to be avoided!
If you use lametta type tinsel, don't be surprised if the cat does a string of sausage like poo linked by shiny silver! More seriously, can cause blockages.
Human chocolate is bad for cats, as is anything with onion/garlic in, and grapes/dried fruit like raisins.
There's loads of web sites out there with more comprehensive lists, but these are the basics and probably enough to send new cat owners dashing to check them!
