Lost my girl today

She was failing (14.5 years old) - bloody diarreah, sickness, couldn't groom herself, in pain. So I decided sooner rather than later.

Just awful. I am going to miss her so much.

I'm so sorry. It's horrendous losing them.

What was she like?

We lost our old girl last year. Totally devastated at the time but once the shock wore off we found the happy memories coming back. She was quite a character and we still laugh about her every day.

Thank you for responding.

She loved a box, and a bit of paper to lie on. She purred so loudly that it was hard to hear the telly.

When she was younger she got into scraps with neighbourhood cats and I was often at the vets.

She slept next to me on my pillow, so when I turned over she disgruntledly got off the bed.

I loved (love) her 🥲

It is hard OP We had a canvas print done of our little one which is mounted on the living room wall above the end of the sofa where she often sat or slept.

The vets are going to return her in a sleeping urn which will have pride of place in the house. Her sister (who didn't like her - both rescue cats) is nevertheless wandering around the house miaowing.

This is hard.

I have always had cats in my life, but they got run over or disappeared. This is the first cat that I have had cradle to grave - Millie and her sister were found at the bottom of a block of flats and I got them at 14 weeks old from Cats Protection.

I dithered about whether to go to the vets, but became scared every time she cried in pain, I didn't want a mad dash - but now I keep thinking maybe we could have held on a bit longer. But then we would have had the mad dash.

Just horrible today, just horrible.
