Not sure if anyone remembers Demelza. I’m so heartbroken, I can’t stop crying. I feel so guilty for letting her out. I kept her in for a year because I didn’t want this to happen. She was 3.
She was the most wonderful cat you could wish for. Never hunted, absolutely loved cuddles, my children especially my oldest (14) absolutely adored her with all her heart. I had the woman across the road knock on ny door this morning and tell me. She was right outside my house and looked like she had tried to cross to get home.
I’m heartbroken. I really am.

💔 So sorry. I'd love to see a pic of her, but only if you want to post one OP. Hugs.

I remember her, I'm so sorry for your loss. You gave her a good life and she was loved. 💔

FoxyLadyBOOtique · 06/12/2022 09:21

Oh no, I’m so sorry. I too would love to see a pic of sweety.

Defiantlynot41 · 06/12/2022 09:25

Oh no! I remember her, so sorry

Indoorvoicesbluey · 06/12/2022 09:27

She was honestly the best girl ever. She didn’t really go out much only to the toilet, she much preferred my daughters bed. There’s blood all over my path and hall way where my husband carried her in

I’m so sorry x

Indoorvoicesbluey · 06/12/2022 09:38

Iv rang two pet crematoriums this morning and each one sounded so cold and heartless. I rang the vets she went to and they were so lovely. I don’t know what to do

Oh I'm so sorry, I remember Demelza from your earlier threads. She had a wonderful life with you and was obviously loved, please be kind to yourself. 💐

Piffle11 · 06/12/2022 10:00

Oh she's beautiful.

So sorry, OP x

Blughbablugh · 06/12/2022 10:10

I'm so sorry. We lost our boy just over 2 years ago to the road. My DH felt such guilt at not having got him in earlier and having left the front door open (he only really went out the back). To be honest though time has been a great healer and he now sees that he was a cat and was just doing what cats do. Be kind to yourself, its still bound to be a shock. We had our boy cremated and now he sits in our living room with his photo on his box.

Allergictoironing · 06/12/2022 10:16

So very sorry for your loss, I remember your earlier threads about Demelza and thinking how much her name suited her. 😢

caringcarer · 06/12/2022 10:23

It's so horrible when you lose a young healthy cat. I lost my Marcus 2 years ago and he was only 4. The thing is he loved going in and out. I don't think he would have been as happy not being allowed out. My other 2 cats go in and out but tend to stay mostly in our garden and cuddled up inside in warm. I buried Marcus in a box in his favourite space in garden and have some forget me not flowers growing there. What helped me was to get one of those photo frames with cut outs and put lots of photos of Marcus in it. It hangs on wall where I sit, because Marcus was usually on my lap.

Villagetoraiseachild · 06/12/2022 10:36

So sorry for your loss Op. Lighting a candle for you and her.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/12/2022 10:40

I remember her, I’m so sorry. We lost ours on the road too & blamed ourselves for it.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/12/2022 12:42

So sorry.

Gatekeeper · 06/12/2022 12:47

ohh I am so sorry...what a little sweetheart :(

Indoorvoicesbluey · 06/12/2022 13:06

I’m having a panic and what if she wasn’t actually dead when my husband picked her up? She was very limp but the blood was pouring out her nose, would this happen if she was still alive? When we took her vets to be cremated there was blood in her crate and a wetness from her bottom end. She was stiff so definitely dead then but I’m worried I could have done something?

Please try not to think that way OP, it doesnt sound like she was alive. I'm sure you and your husband did all you could. She's a very beautiful girl, I'm so sorry for your loss 💐
