My cat died today

My lovely cat died today. I was returning home and she darted out right in front of me as I got near to home and went under my tyre i couldnt stop in time as she literally ran out from under a bush into my wheel. She was killed almost instantly. I held her and hugged her and told her how much I loved her and she died in my arms on the driveway.
I am absolutely devastated I just can't believe it's happened and just keep crying my eyes out. I feel awful. I don't even know why I'm posting I feel like the most awful pet owner in the world.

This happened to me too. It’s truly awful, but it was a dreadful accident. Have a good cry but try not to blame yourself. Sending a hug.

I feel like I have no right to feel sad about her because it was me that hit her I just feel so ashamed and guilty.

Oh, OP, I'm so sorry. I did the same thing to my dog years ago, just a total accident but I felt awful afterwards. There's nothing you could've done so please don't beat yourself up, and it sounds like it was mercifully quick.

Oh that’s devastating, I’m so sorry. I hope you can take some comfort in being with her and telling her you loved her at the end.

I’m so sorry my lovely. Please don’t beat yourself up about this as it was just a horrid accident, I’ve hit one of our cats before (we’d just got an electric car and he couldn’t hear it as I reversed). Condolences for your loss and be kind to yourself over the next few days.

I am so sorry about your lovely cat, no wonder you are devastated, it was a tragic accident though, please dont blame yourself.

My friend recently ran over her dog, she suddenly darted behind the car as she was reversing, it is such an easy thing to do. You were with your beloved cat at the end, please don't feel ashamed or guilty, your cat knew how much you loved her.

Thank you for your kind words I don't feel like I deserve them to be honest. I have just dropped her off at the pet cemetery locally so I will be able to visit her there in a few days time. My poor girl I just can't believe she's not here anymore.

I'm thinking about you today. So sorry :(

How absolutely terrible for you. I'm so sorry. My old boy died a few weeks ago when a car hit him. It was instant, which was a blessing. x
