Hello all,
We rescued a diabetic cat a year ago. He's 10. His liver function 1 week ago was much worse than it was while he was at the rescue centre. Clearly there is a problem with his liver. The vet suggested anesthesia and liver biopsy.
I will call the vet to understand better what 'bad liver function' means. I know it could be cancer, but what if it is not cancer? What can it be? If it is cancer does it help us to know that? I would not want to put him through cancer treatment as I do not think it would be right. If it is not cancer can it be kept under control with medicines?
The procedure will be £2500, not an insignificant sum, but even if it was £250 I feel very sorry to put him through that if it's a degenerative disease that I can't do much about.
I know I am writing a confused post, but it's confused because I am confused. I will talk to the vet, but until then, if you have any suggestion/experience/opinion, would you please share it with me? Thank you
