Should I get another cat?

Due to a relationship breakdown, my sphynx is now spending more time alone than before and is now urinating everywhere and pooing outside of the litter box too.

I don't want to let her go but not sure if that would be the right thing?

Would she benefit from a companion, to be there when I'm not around? She's extremely affectionate.

It's so tough.

I don't know much about sphinxes, I have ordinary moggies, and I have twice introduced a new kitten, and I can't say that either time it's improved the life of the original cat! I've got friends though who have introduced new cats and it's been absolutely fine so I guess it depends on the individual personality of the cat. This probably isn't particularly useful to you, just beware it can go either way. Each time we followed all the guidance around separating them to begin with and introducing them slowly, but it didn't seem to make a massive amount of difference. In both of the cases, the cats tolerate each other most of the time but do often fight.

We did and it was a disaster from the first minute. The new kitten was gorgeous but our other girl cat turned into a demon and moved out. It was awful. We returned the kitten very reluctantly, as we loved him by them. There was a waiting list for him, not pedigree, just a friend who's cat wasn't neutered. Wrong I know!!
Kitten gone our cat returned to her usual sweet self. Sorry not much use to you, but it can go either way. Good luck.
