Hi

I’ve posted a few times previously as my male cat has had various urinary issues this year (blockage, surgery, crystals, cystitis etc)
He has a water fountain and is on urinary cat food and takes daily cystease, has feliway plug ins etc but he still requires rheumocam on a semi regular basis when he gets a flare up and licks himself a lot - you can tell he is uncomfortable
I’ve seen people talk about D- Mannose but its not something I’ve heard of before. What does it do? Has anyone used this and has it helped? Keen to see if I can do anything else to alleviate any symptoms before discussing long term
medication
Thanks all

Hi OP.

I use it for my cat - it's just a natural supplement/extract that's supposed to promote bladder health. He was diagnosed with crystals just over a year ago but has thankfully never needed surgery 🤞

We give him two tablets a day as well as Cytease and the urinary food designed to dissolve crystals. He's not had any further episodes since last January when we started the D Mannose and the new diet.

Hope that helps a little!
