Tips on switching food

Needing to cut back on the cost of our cat's food. He is small but eats loads - he's been known to trick various members of the family into feeding him 3-4 pouches per day on top of the dry food.

He's regularly wormed so it's not that he's just a hunter and super active, often out all night.

He will only eat whiskers and is an absolute bastard if he doesn't get it but it's so expensive.

Has anyone had any success in switching a very stubborn cat?

Ha cheeky sod! It’s probably easier to just cut him down to 1-2 a day and have a system for recording it- tick chart on the fridge maybe? But no, my cat, pampered prince that he is, can only eat a specific royal canin pouch or else his litter box smells awful so we’ve cut him down to 1 a day!

I'm in similar position. Our cat only eats sheba or occasionally the felix agail but gets bored with it too. Would love to switch her over to cheaper food!

Can you just cut out the wet food and feed him on dry? Or just cut down the amount of wet?
