Worried about my cat

We will take him to the vet but just wanted to speak to all you cat lovers.

Merlin is our first cat and is 3, he's always been a flat cat with small space to roam on the balcony.

Anyway, he's always been really healthy and happy until Jul this year where we found blood in his wee. It was put down to stress as we had been away a lot as my partners mum died. The vet gave him antibiotics and it cleared up and there's been no issues since.

I woke up yesterday to find 3 piles of sick, looked like u digested food. He hasn't been for a pooh yesterday or so far today and I think he's struggling to urinate. I think he's had a few weds on the carpet and on the bed. His litter tray is clean, he's been hovering over it for ages and nothing comes out.

I noticed a week or so ago some more blood in his wee and on his pooh but was advised to keep an eye on it and it happened to clear up so the vet said not to worry about taking him in as sometimes that happens.

Thinking he must have a urine infection and be constipated but as this is my first cat I don't have much experience.

What's your thoughts?

Sorry you're going through this with your kitty.
I have to say, I think your cat is showing signs of being very stressed. You can't afford taking him to the vets every few weeks.
Sleeping under the bed does sound like he's hiding. Has he got high places he can get to in order to be away from the children?
My friends cat is very prone to stress related bladder problems. He lives in a quiet house with no small children but any changes in his environment - like other cats coming into his territory, blood in urine immediately.

Hoping for good news from the vet

He's got kidney stones so at least we know the cause now. He's having an operation today.

He has got lots of places to climb and sit upon and he does come out and sit with us too and he does play with the kids, I think they get too much after a while though but they have been a lot better even just this past week. His safe/chill space is under the end of the bed for sure.

@trampoline123
ok good that it will hopefully be sorted now. Has the vet managed to sort a payment plan?

No, they don't do them. We were in such a panic we just wanted to get him the quickest help.

I sold some shares I had to put towards xmas so will use that and FIL is going to lend us the rest of the money.

Hopefully he will stay well enough in order for us to get pet insurance that covers pre-existing.
