Last night Notourcat peed on the spare bed. (he's a bit prone to peeing indoors if the weather is bad but usually pees in the bath which, while not ideal is easy to clean..he won't use a litter tray)
It was quite a deep yellow and smelled sort of sweet..not the usual smell I'd associate with cat pee.
Anyway fast forward to today... we had gone out to lunch with my brother and his dog..they had stayed the night. Notourcat is scared of their tiny dog (but he bullies out huge dog!) I thought he had gone out but when I came home he had peed again... this time in my grandsons toy Noah's Ark!!! The pee was dark and again smelled sweet rather than cat pee smell... it was definitely him because he was the only creature home!
I'm a bit worried he's poorly although he's eating fine and seems his usual self (happy now the other dog has gone!)
I'm off to Australia in 24 hours so absolutely no chance of going to the vets..(out delivering my dog to the friends caring for her.) and my neighbour is going to look after Notourcat while we are away for 3 weeks. She definitely couldn't take him to the vets as he is ex street cat and picking him up is VERY difficult!
Could he have diabetes? Or kidney failure? I'm really worried that he is suddenly poorly and there is nothing I can do for three weeks!
