I’m in shock, remember all the trials and tribulations I’ve posted over the past year as he turned into a fabulous little cat, he’s just died in my arms. He had his tea as normal last night, gave me a little chirp and snuggle and went to bed. I heard some moans from his room at about 7am , went in and he looked odd and he just died just like my last cat. I’m never having another cat, I let them down. Im beyond devastated.

Oh lovely!!!! That's so sad...you must be devastated 😥 So sorry about this...I lost my lovely boy in August so I know how you feel. Huge hugs xx

You did not let him down at all! You did your very best for him, you gave him a loving home, you gave him time to develop into a fantastic cat.

I'm so so sorry for your loss. It is not your fault that he died. It happened suddenly with one of my cats too so I can understand how you feel. Be kind to yourself, you're in shock.

So sorry. You gave him a wonderful life. You didn't let him down.

Heartbreaking for you, I’m so sorry Flowers

I'm so sorry for you. The pain is absolutely the worst when you lose any beloved animal, BUT, your home is wasted not giving another needy animal a home sometime. And your heart 💐

Ludo19 · 21/10/2022 21:33

Sorry for your loss

YetAnotherSpartacus · 22/10/2022 14:27

I am so, so sorry. I followed your story and this is such a sad ending. I am taking solace in the fact that you gave him the very best life though.

Wauden · 22/10/2022 21:11

It is tough but honestly you gave him a good home and love and he appreciated that. ❤

Fruitbatt · 22/10/2022 21:21

So sorry 💐

Blowyourowntrumpet · 22/10/2022 22:34

I'm so very sorry. You didn't let him down. You loved him and he loved you.

JoanOgden · 22/10/2022 22:36

I'm so sorry. Of course dying so quickly in your arms is much better for him than a slow miserable decline, but how heartbreaking. I hope that in time you can be consoled by the thought of how much you improved his life, and how much he loved you. No one can ever take that away.

joangray38 · 22/10/2022 22:56

Thankyou for all your kind words. I took this photos 2 days before he died. I am tormenting myself looking at cat sudden death symptoms and wishing I had taken him to the vets as I can’t be certain he was weeing okay as he had started going outside to toilet. I just miss him so much and he deserved a long and happy life and didn’t get it. More selfishly he was all I had:

What a handsome boy.
Don't beat yourself up. The thing with this kind of sudden problem is it's tempting to try and look back and see if there's something you missed.
Comfort yourself with knowing he lived knowing he was loved and cared for.
Don't write off ever having another. I'm still broken by the loss of one of my best ever cats a few years ago, but it hasn't stopped me loving the other 3 I have now..
