Lapsed cat insurance

I inadvertently allowed cat insurance to lapse (second year it’s happened!)

Reinstated it with same company (Bought By Many) but they will not cover her for any condition she’s had in the last 2 years. This wouldn’t have been the case had the policy not lapsed.

What’s the point of that?!

Because they are now pre existing conditions. Perfectly reasonable clause to have.

Why don’t you pay by direct debit so you stop forgetting?

What arbitrary period of time is acceptable to you then? Considering this would have been easily avoided anyway.

14 days? Similar to a cooling off period when taking out insurance would be reasonable.

Just have your policy set to renew automatically.

Of course any old conditions are now considered pre-existing, otherwise everyone would just not bother paying for insurance

Bloody hell, I’ve been so busy getting our house ready for the imminent arrival of our new cats that I’ve forgotten insurance!
