Early waking

Our rescue cat was meowing outside my bedroon door for breakfast at 4.51am this morning...when I opened the door he followed up by trying to eat my hair so I put a pillow over my head.

I don't want to get out of bed to feed him before 6am...is there anything I can do about this early waking? I'd feel bad locking him downstairs as he loves to be around people.

Could you get a food bowl timer and set it for 4.30am? Or feed him before you go to bed?

I feel your pain. Mine has been doing it between 5 and 6 recently. This was linked to a slight change in her appetite which she appears to be regaining. No idea why.

we’ve had her for almost a year and she was semi feral!

she used to be fine but then she started meowing and sticking her paws under the door for attention. Recently put a cardboard barrier in front of the door and her food bowl. It’s got better over the last two nights but now I’m waking up in anticipation.

help me! Anyone have tips? I’ve forgotten to buy ear plugs today too

I take a few biscuits up to bed and feed mine when she wakes me up.
