Cat extra cuddly after neutering?

We finally managed to get our boy in to be neutered yesterday, and since then he's been incredibly cuddly and affectionate, even more so than usual.

Would it be too soon for it to be a behavioural change from the operation? Is it more likely to be because he's uncomfortable or unsettled from going to the vet?

Sorry, funnily enough our cat was exactly the same after his neutering!! He's normally not fussy at all, and wasn't neutered until he was 2 years old. This was because he was a homeless street cat from birth.
Your boy is absolutely gorgeous. What a big fine cat.
Just to say, as soon as the ketamine wore off, he was back to his aloof self. 😁

He's probably glad to be home and being nice so he doesn't get any other bits of him snipped off!

As an aside, I did ask our vet what to expect after his op. Would he be in a lot of pain or uncomfortable. She said generally, they don't even notice, and normally carry on as normal, which he did. Hope your boy is ok 😻

It's actually a toddler armchair, meant to be for DS but he doesn't really get a look in anymore

Does anyone know how long it's likely to take for his wee to stop smelling so strong?! The vet said neutering would help that but my god it's still horrific. I'm quite heavily pregnant so possibly a bit more sensitive to it though!

My cats were both very cuddly a few days after being spayed. And they've stayed that way since. One of them was such a grumpy girl before. Maybe it's to do with less hormones raging round their bodies?

My boy is always super cuddly after a vet visit. He just loves you and finds you comforting after his scary experience.

It's too early for the hormonal changes that lead to behaviour changes.

Thinking about it, my mini panther boy is also super cuddly after a vets visit too. It could just be that he wants some comfort as @TrashPandas suggests.

Mine was totally high after he was snipped kept sitting on my shoulder like a parrot and trying to rub my face and sliding down and climbing back up to try again 😅 I've also got film footage of him trying to dig water
