What does my cat think he’s doing?

Cat tax paid.

Every afternoon my cat sits next to my keyboard & whacks me on the head with his paw. It’s at the same time as head bumps & slow blinks so I think it’s a sign of affection - just not quite sure?

He loves you but wants something.
One of mine is super affectionate and purring whilst simultaneously walking over my keyboard or trying to get into cupboards. Only cupboards next to me, hence to get my attention more than actually wanting to get in the cupboard.
Mine usually wants food. When I put the food down the behaviour stops. Doesn't always eat the food, just wants it to be offered.

The shouts for food start about an hour later. The whacking, come to think of it, usually begins once I've given in to the intent stare, the head bumps & the tail covering my keyboard & started fussing him.

Maybe it's encouragement or he thinks he should pat me back.

Hes shouting because you ignoring the whacking...

One of mine comes and stands on his back legs next to my office chair, front paws on the arm and taps me on the arm while meowing.

He wants me to let him out... it's not subtle

He loves you.

And he's hungry.

He's gorgeous too.

He IS gorgeous.

My cat whacks me with her paw when she wants my full attention. I expect that's what he wants.

Yes. He decides he’s had enough of me staring at a screen instead of him.

My DH WFH , our female cat sits on the chair next to him staring intently up at his face . Then the paw comes up . If he doesn't pay immediate attention, the paw comes up again but with the claws out .

Usually she has him all to herself , I'm out , the DC are in other rooms and malecat knows not to interfere wuth the close D(Female)Cat-DH bond .

And then there's the ZoomMeeting PhotoBomb

Mine does exactly that too. Except she wants me to go and lie on the sofa so she has a nice warm lap. Not happening if I'm wfh, so there is a lot of arm patting and yowling throughout the day to contend with.

We had the first zoom meeting photo bomb the other day. I was having a catch up with my manager & he plonked down next to me with his tail on the keyboard. She was quite pleased to hear he’d never decided to join in before. 😄

If I'm on the computer my cat hassles me until I put Magpies for Cats on YouTube for him.
