Hello,

Just back from the vets with dcat. What I thought was an injury from her latest fight (she has form) turns out to be eczema. She has had a dose of steriods and antibiotics.
Vet is hopeful it will clear up and maybe a one off but just incase can anyone recommend a food that would help or anything else we can do for her to reduce the pain, itching and recurrence.

Thanks

I’d pay for an allergy test and find out what dcat is allergic to. Cheaper in the long run.

Thank you. I did ask if it was food or stress related but the vet said he didn't think so.

What a beautiful cat - love her coat! What do you feed her at the moment?

Namechanged0088 · 24/09/2022 10:24

She eats the gourmet tins and pouches.

Contact eczema in our dogs was caused by cleaning products - the worst was carpet cleaner, followed by any furnishing flea treatment. Could this be likely for her? Does she sit on clean laundry? In bathroom sinks that have been cleaned? Have any of your products become “new and improved”?

lovely photo!

You could try a grain free food for her. If it is her food, it might be a case of trial and error.

Shes beautiful 😍 Its not a good thing to change her food before ruling out everything else first.

How long have you been noticing this patch? Has anything changed in that time, ie cleaning or laundry products? Anything "new and improved"? Anything changed in her environment eg new cat in neighbourhood or baby? New plant in yours or next doors garden? New litter? You get the idea 😅

Thank you. I can't think of anything that has changed recently but il have a think.
