Diabetic Food

My cat was diagnosed with Diabetes today.

Are all diabetic foods equal? They told me to purchase Royal Canin however, after driving around and finding out every pet shop only orders them in (after the vet told me to go to pets at home) I ended up back at the vets and purchasing food from them. But after getting home I found they'd sold me purina.

I have been googling all day. I don't know what to do. Where is the cheapest place to purchase the food?

Amazon, pets at home, online shops I just don't know where to go as this in looking to be around £70 a month for wet and dry.

We believed he was 8 but have been told his is closer to 12 and has around 3 teeth.

Zooplus is usually good for a variety of foods

I am so sorry you must be reeling in shock right now Sad

Pets at home are good for doing click and collect so you don't have to have it posted if that makes easier, I'm sure the vet could order in for you too.

I have heard very good things about ordering from zooplus from various forums but personally I've only used it for a cattree .

Thank you so much! I can not believe how much cheaper Zooplus is! This is very much possible now, yesterday I just didn't know what to do and now it all seems better,

Thank you, There is just so much to plan and get and worry about and finding out at 5pm meant I can't do anything.

I can't lose him but the cost attached to this is just terrifying.

I buy food and treats and cat trees and scratchers from zooplus. It is much cheaper than places like pets at home.

I have a diabetic dog but cat but just to say get the insulin and needles from animed direct, don't Pay the vets prices. They will charge you for the prescription but it is significantly cheaper to buy online.

I buy everything from Zooplus, so much cheaper AND you don't have to carry it back from the shops.

Thank you, I am praying this can be controlled by diet. We go back Friday to see if its worked.

But I will start pricing it up today to prepare me so I don't end up in another state of shock like over the food.
