Runny poo

We've had our rescue cat since July. He's always had runny poo, his Foster lady thought it might be the stress of living with other cats when with her. She fed him nature's menu, so we've continued with that. But the only time he's had solidish poo is when he just ate chicken breast for a week.

I tried royal canin 'sensible' hard food- the poo went explosive! So I stopped very quickly.

I've been trying other grain free varieties (lily's kitchen - won't eat the lumps, rosies farm) and there has been no improvement.

On the advice of the nurse at the local vet I even tried promax for 3 days, but he HATED it and it made no difference...

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!
