Cat ate garlic naan

Cabbagecat managed to steal a bit of my garlic naan bread. I know garlic is very very toxic to cats. How much garlic is he likely to have injested from a bit of bread about the size of two postage stamps? Do I need to do anything, take him to the very now, or just monitor? He's quite a dainty size, about 4.5kg, and about 2 and half years old.

Please be gentle, I'm scared he's going to get really ill or die :(

I doubt he’d have had more than a tiny amount in the little portion so I’m sure he will be fine.

Are you able to see the content of garlic in the whole naan and work out how much he could possibly have eaten?
A whole clove of garlic according to Alexa is around 3g
according to Google
toxic ingestion is around 1 gram per 5 pounds
So he would have to have had 2/3 of a clove worth for it to be really bad? Do phone the vet if you are worried but it doesn’t seem like he’s had a lot of garlic. I hope he will be okay Flowers

Don't worry about it. He must have ingested a tiny bit. I wouldn't rush him off to the vets. Just keep an eye on him.

Well, so far he's eaten his dinner and is currently zooming round like he's eaten speed, rather than some garlic. Standard Monday night behaviour for cabbagecat, then.

Thanks for all your reassurances.

His two brain cells are still working as well as they were yesterday morning. Bless him, he's utterly adorable, but not blessed in the brainpower department.

My cats licked the garlic butter left overs from a chicken kiev this evening and I have been freaking out.

Spoke to my vets who reassured me they'll likely be fine, but she does recommend watching them closely as garlic poisoning usually starts 2-4 days after ingestion.

My ddog ate 5 mince pies last Christmas.
No ill effects..

My cat is always eating and curry with garlic

Was your cat ok after eating the garlic bread? I’m freaking out because one of our cats ate some garlic butter this evening. No ill effects so far but I’ve read symptoms can take 2-4 days to show.
