Is this cat pregnant?

I get a regular visitor. She was a skinny wee thing before I started feeding her. She's looking chubby on the sides when you look straight down at her. I've tried to take pictures but she's a shy wee thing. No chip. Can't get a look at her nipples. She seems grumpier than normal. Any ideas?

Pm for pics 🐈

noclothesinbed · 30/08/2022 12:40

Please get her neutered before she goes outside again.

Roselilly36 · 30/08/2022 12:40

She is a gorgeous looking cat 🐈

allboysmum3 · 30/08/2022 12:43

Just a thought.. if she's in good condition and we'll looked after she probably already has a home with owners that are worried? 🤷🏻‍♀️

SmartCar · 30/08/2022 12:55

Yep have post up on Facebook. Also put one up in the vets. Small town only one vet. Dd wants to put posters up on lamppost around the town. So far no one has contacted me. I've been feeding her since January when she was a skinny wee thing.

Did you not read where the OP said she was very thin?

A shameless place mark, for kitten 🐈‍⬛ pics.
How amazing she chose you!

Me too!

She is beautiful.

Bestcatmum · 30/08/2022 13:14

I would just DIE if a cat had kittens in my house. There is no way I'd be able to even go to work. I'd just be lying on the carpet adoring the Holy Family 😍

SmartCar · 30/08/2022 13:20

Think dd will be exactly like that. I've sadly got far to much on to be gazing at the wee fluffballs

Poor kitty, she’s a beauty though. Please get her spayed as soon as possible.

ofwarren · 30/08/2022 13:25

Soubriquet · 30/08/2022 12:35

Bless her. Have you started asking around for homes so you’re not left short when it comes to rehoming them?

Or do what I did when it happened to us and keep them all, including the mum 🤣
I just couldn't part with the gorgeous little things.

mightbeyesmightbeno · 30/08/2022 13:35

Joining this thread as am excited to see the kittens arrive! What a lovely home you've offered her :)

ItsOnlyWordsInnit · 30/08/2022 13:43

Gorgeous little girl, she’s chosen well.
Kitten bones only show up on x-rays in the final two weeks before delivery, so in a week or so sounds reasonable.
If you want to look up a few videos on helping a cat through labour, try Kitten Lady on Youtube. She also has plenty of advice about the first few weeks. Best of luck!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 30/08/2022 13:47

What a beautiful cat! And expecting kittens! Brilliant! Shamelessly placemarking for the Big Event!

SillyFruit · 30/08/2022 13:51

How exciting!

Creepymanonagoatfarm · 30/08/2022 13:54

Yabu to have mentioned you have more important things than dkittens to swoon over!
Keep us updated op.

Surtsey · 30/08/2022 14:09

Whoever owned her before couldn't be bothered to get her neutered or even microchipped, so they clearly weren't good cat staff.

She's much better off with you.

My first cat had 3 kittens, & I can tell you this is exactly how it is. Hours are lost simply gazing at them.

(I rang in & took the day off to help her, then went back to work the next day, to be greeted by a male colleague with, "I hear you've given birth!"🙄)

picklemewalnuts · 30/08/2022 14:23

I had this exact same scenario. Just to warn you, her kittens effectively chased her off when they got older. I did rehome them, but it took longer than planned. In the meantime she moved on. I'd got her spayed first though, luckily.

She was an expensive visitor!

That would be my problem if I ever found a pregnant cat

SmartCar · 30/08/2022 16:16

Of course going to get her spayed 🙂 don't think we need any more wee kitty's about. Dd and OH are already trying to convince me to keep just one 😅

My ndn had 2 very loud dc. Their sweet black dcat had 3 dkittens in my cupboard-I had 1 quiet dd! . A few weeks before I was due to move house.. They came with us. I kept 2 dkittens.. Rehomed 1 and the ndn came and got her dcat back!!
