Treating Lice??

I visited a neighbour today and noticed all these tiny white specks all over her cat's fur. The cat is a companion and spends most of the day inside but goes out at night time. Initially I thought it was just pollen but I zoomed in on my camera and saw the little blighters moving - this person has never used any kind of flea/tick treatment ("didn't need it in my day", ikywim).

I called my own vet and described it, they reckoned it was indeed lice and gave me some Frontline Combo, which I applied. I'll make sure the cat gets regular spot-on treatment from now on.

My question in the meantime is this - what do I do now? The cat isn't in any distress, but there are literally thousands of them. I tried to remove some with a nit comb but he just got annoyed with me and scratched at me to leave him alone. Should I just let the Frontline do its thing and then go and wash his bedding? Or should I be trying to remove as many as I can with a wet glove or something? I'm afraid if I mess with him too much that he won't let me near him again and the owner is elderly and wouldn't be able to do it herself.

The cat doesn't go through her house but I've washed & tumble dried the owners bedding and towels just in case.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
