Just a news story that made me smile and an absolutely gorgeous cat!

""I don't think he has one bit of a clue what's happened," she said.
"As long as I feed him he's not bothered."😸

I thought the good denizens of the Litter Tray might enjoy it.

He’s such a cutie too! Extra dreamies for him 😊

Antarcticant · 17/08/2022 12:39

Yes, he looks just like my sister's second cat, sadly no longer with us. I like the way he looks totally indifferent in that first photo being cuddled by his devoted mum!

He's gorgeous. Cats are amazing creatures that we will never be able to fully understand.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/08/2022 15:11

"He's completely nonchalant" of course he is!

“FGS stop going on about about it and feed me”

😀"I didn't rescue you so you could shove a camera in my face!"

The food source must be protected at all costs. Although my cat didn’t get the memo and will have me on the floor one day, she’s deadlier than the Bengal ever was.

We had a cat that would only ever sit with either me or my husband, never went to anyone else. A very good friend of ours, real animal lover, used to spend a lot of time regularly at our house, all other cats and dogs would make a fuss of him but this cat was very much me or husband and no-one else, didn't dislike friend as such, no hissing or anything like that just wouldn't sit on him like the others did. Friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer, very ill. He was brought round to see us by his carer before he went into a Hospice and this cat immediately went and sat on his lap (he was in a wheelchair) and would not move until he was ready to leave, cat knew, it was as if she was saying goodbye and it still brings a lump to my throat. Friend was dead 48 hours later.

Oh bless him, cats are so clever. It reminds me of a cat in a book I read recently about a cat in a hospice/hospital that used to sit with patients just as they were dying. I can’t remember which book it was! Can anyone remember?

Antarcticant · 17/08/2022 20:15

Was it the book about the cat 'Oscar'?

I’m not sure, he was more of a cat in a book rather than the main protagonist.

DomesticShortHair · 17/08/2022 20:23

She thought he was being a hero. He just thought it was tea-time.

dudsville · 17/08/2022 20:25

Thanks for posting OP, lovely story and such a beautiful cat!

I'd like to read that book the cat sounds lovely as if trying to bring a bit of comfort for the patients in their last moments, cats really are clever they definitely sense things we don't.

joangray38 · 17/08/2022 21:08

Cats understand so much. I have limited mobility and often fall. If My old cat would see me fall he would either run to my mum to tell her or push himself under my arm as though he was trying to help me up.

Of course. Have just cat sat for a weekend. Lots of fuss and cuddles. Owners back today. Totally ignored.

Was it Doctor Sleep? Sequel to The Shining?

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/08/2022 21:53

Quite right too. Going away, outrageous behaviour.
