Ideas to stop kitten weeing on carpet.

My kitten is 5 months old. Has always been excellent on the litter tray. But one night I left it up high after cleaning and forgot to put it down. So it went on the carpet. And now it keeps going back. We keep the room shut now but if he gets chance he's in there for a wee in his favourite spot.

I've sprayed it with an enzyme cleaner. Tried putting foil down which it thought was a great toy.

He's not yet neutered but is booked in in a few weeks - not sure if this will make a difference.

Is there anything else I can do? I don't want to put a litter tray there as it's in the playroom. I just want it to stop blooming weeing there!!

No suggestions I’m afraid but following as we’ve had the same problem! I think short of pulling up the carpet there’s not much you can do as they can smell it and think that’s there toilet.
Did you lift the carpet and give it a thorough soaking with the protein spray, including underlay?

If you put a litter tray on the favoured spot and he uses it instead of the carpet then after a while you should be able to gradually move the tray to a more convenient spot, once you've broken the habit of weeing on the carpet. Make sure you use an extra litter tray, though, and keep his other one in its usual spot.
