New house has sureflap , how does it work?

My 2 cats can get out but not back in. When they are near it there is a red light that flashes. I am totally clueless. Will I need a new cat flap or is there a way to get it to recognise my cats chips?

We have one of these. That sounds like it needs a new battery if it’s flashing red.

I think there’s a button somewhere that you can hold down and then hold your cat in the cat flap until clicks. They can recognise up to a certain number of cats, I think 5.

You need to register your cats on the microchip. Instructions are on their website but as a pp said, you need to hold down the button while you post your cats through the flat. The button is under the battery cover on the top

I'd probably also delete the previous cats so they can't get in. If the red light is flashing when no cat posting is happening, battery needs changing
