Catholic guilt has nothing on these two!

Coming soon, snorg becomes the uks most effective mouser.

gogohmm · 10/08/2022 22:35

Sorry but please enlighten me - cat soup, cat yogurt? The obviously neglected feline here eats dry cat food only, I knew about wet car food obviously but not these other products ( it's dsd's cat I'm just the muggins who grooms her whilst she's at university!)

Fortunately neither of the could catch a cold, let alone a mouse.

Could I offer an exchange for my terror who brought a bat in at 0330 today - which took me over an hour to shoo into the bathroom with window wide open and door closed - took 10 mins for the critter to find its way out while cat demanded dreamies in return for my gift

2 cats who don't hunt or deliver half mangled shrews voles mice bats frogs and even the odd rat ... is my idea of floof heaven

Will pay postage ?

Make your own by simmering a spare shrew for a couple of hours.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/08/2022 09:30

@Toddlerteaplease You still with us? Please check in 😁

@gogohmm Check out the cat treats section of Pets At Home as a starting point, then when you've finished hyperventilating at the sheer volume of stuff available check out the cat treats section on Amazon. Webbox Lick-e-Lix is a good starting point - like Frubes but for cats.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2022 09:38

Don't worry, I'm still alive. They've been very affectionate overnight. @floofmum get your self a Persian, you are safe. Lovely gentle cats who are not over endowed with brains.

Shrew ice cream in this weather surely? Another poster was talking about that the other day.

We used to have a fluffy cat who suffered in the heat. He was at the vets to have his teeth done and I (half jokingly) asked if they would shave his fur off while he was under. He came home with a rather smart lion cut and skipped around the garden like a kitten so was obviously far more comfortable.

The following summer I bought a set of dog clippers and every time he would get all lethargic due in hot weather I'd shave a few strips off his body - he'd get fed up fairly quickly and get up and walk off, but I could usually get most fur off his body within a few days during the first hot spell of the summer.

After he died (he lived a long and happy life to about 17) DP used those dog clippers for a good few years to cut his own hair.

I know. The section that is all packaged like worthy designer baby accessories is most amazing.

I've learned that the more you spend on cat treats, toys and beds, the less likely they are to use them.

Most popular in this house are carboard boxes and crinkly paper from online shopping, the strip that comes off the top of the Dreamies packet (plus the Dreamies of course) and a £2 multipack of various types of balls.

For kittens (we foster for a rescue so have a revolving door of little ones) add stray socks left around and pants out of the washing basket.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/08/2022 14:48

I do have a set of clippers. But she's already not impressed with my efforts on her tummy. So I'd better not attempt a lion cut.

My cat walks around and then flumps on the floor with a big sigh. She’s a fluff too but she wouldn’t tolerate me going anywhere near her with clippers

I didn't do his tummy, too worried about chopping a nipple off, just top and sides of his body. My efforts weren't stylish, just making him a little less insulated and hence more comfortable during hot weather.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2022 15:40

My Bengal used to do the big sigh. Quite what they’ve got to sigh about with free rent, food, maid service and private healthcare.

My fluffy old cat is looking most pained at the moment.

Mainly because we keep on checking that she isn't overheating by touching her ears when she's busy sleeping - they're still pleasantly ear like, so she's adapted well this summer. I think the elderly schedule of sleep in the approximate direction of the fan, moan for food, sleep, moan for attention, sleep, then sleep before being all happy and bouncy on the bed at 6am when it's lovely and cool before moaning for food and then sleeping again is serving her well.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/08/2022 14:45

Crisis. I've been round 3 shops and I can't find any soup. And it is too hot to walk to PAH or drive there!

We will mourn you. Don’t worry about the cats, they’ll get snapped up in no time.

Indeed. Do you have a favourite flower? Would like to get your memorial right.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/08/2022 15:34

Red and yellow tulips. And please make sure I have the final collect for the Burial of the dead from the book of common prayer. Instead of the Sun Venite for my requiem mass please. 😜

They've had chicken and lik e lix. Cheddar is looking very smug.

I shall put the flowers on hold then! 😆

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2022 18:41

All's well that ends with chicken being served.

HoollyWugger · 13/08/2022 19:31

Thanks to this thread, I bought some Lik-e-lix things yesterday. Safe to say they're a complete hit! 😄

Chickydoo · 13/08/2022 19:45

Micecream instead?
Lovely shrew recipe on another thread.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/08/2022 18:55

So I'm in big trouble. Went to a pet shop and there was no soup or lik e lix. Just been out for a drive round the block to demonstrate how to use my dads apple car play. And have been Told off for not driving to PAH. It completely didn't occur to me.
