Spotted a strange cat mooching around for about the last week and assumed it was new to the area. But today saw it at close quarters for the first time and think it’s more likely to be lost.
No collar. Very skinny - only realised when I stroked it as it’s a long hair. Fur is ungroomed. I was watering garden and it approached meowing so I gave it some water and it drank for ages then seemed less agitated. Then drank a lot again.
I’ve put photo on local site. There is one neighbour I can check with but otherwise, if it returns tomorrow, I was planning to scoop to the vet to check for a chip. Or am I being too hasty? If its weight and coat were in better shape I wouldn’t be worried. Any advice welcome.
