Introducing 2 cats?

Any advice on this?
I have one ragdoll that we have had for 4months. We are getting another tomorrow.
Any advice on how to handle introductions? Our house is all open plan downstairs. I was thinking of keeping existing cat upstairs for a while so new one cat explore the downstairs before letting them meet. What else should I do?

I plonked my Persian down in the hall
And the other Persian came and sniffed her and that was that.

The breeder you're getting your kitten from should advise you on this. Change of environment can be very stressful for a kitten, I always advise to keep them separate for at least two weeks. Then you can gradually introduce them to each other's scents by swapping blankets etc and then gradually introduce them from a carrier/glass door etc. Some cats take longer than others to get used to another cat so go by the cues.

This.

This is how I've always introduced new cats into the household.
We're getting a new kitten 😻 next month & this is how I'm planning on doing it again.
