Is it worth getting bloods done?

Snorg/ Magic is 12 ish. She's lost about 500g in the last 6 months or so. And feels really skinny. Had vet check and no one concerned as she was "fat anyway" 3.5kg is apparently her ideal weight. But she feels like a bag of bones to me. She fine in her self, no changes on behaviour of appetite. Cost in good condition. Bet didn't seem bothered about doing bloods. But wonder if I should. She may not be insured next month as the premiums are almost £150 a month.

My cat was similar and very slowly it was established it was his thyroid but he had symptoms, coat looking awful, hungry all the time but it was a slow process to get to that point

She may well be older than 12. Her start in life was awful so. It could just be natural ageing.

Hyperthyroidism, diabetes and chronic renal failure can all cause weight loss and can all be managed.
