Why doesn't this type of feeder exist?

We have microchip cat feeders for portion control, great. However every bloody morning between 3am and 4am I'm woken up (never dh) to feed girl cat she is an absolute pain in the arse, I'm a total slave to her.

Why isn't there a microchip automatic feeder so it opens at 3am but the lid closes once they've finished preventing little miss piggy from scoffing her brothers food if he's not wandered in when his feeder opens!

How am I going to ever get any sleep past 3am, it's been 10 years.

We have locked them out but she makes so much noise you can't ignore her or she'll tear up the carpet somewhere else in the house. She really is a canny bugger!

Can you get a timing feeder, but only put a small amount in there?

Something like this timed to 3am with a tiny amount of food in?

WildFlowerBees · 27/07/2022 12:08

We have timed feeders but as he doesn't always appear straight away she eats hers then his then he's hungry and the cycle starts again but with him! I'll stagger them and see if that helps but Sod's law he'll come running when hears hers open and then sit there mournfully waiting for his to open.

Ear plugs. Im not joking either our Bengal perfected minimum effort maximum noise terrorism from a young age.

How big are the feeders? Can you put one inside the other? So timed feeder opens and gives access to microchip feeder?
