New kitten advice

Hello, we’re due to pick our new kitten up in around 4 weeks. My question is about the litter tray as I’ve read conflicting things. I want the litter tray in my front porch but I’m wondering how the kitten will know it’s there! Silly question perhaps but I genuinely don’t know unless the first thing I do when I bring our kitten home is put them in the litter tray and hope they remember how to get there from the living room - literally a straight line down the hallway! However, someone else said to put the litter tray in the room where we spend most time to start and then move it, but I’ve read also to put the litter tray where it will be permanently so as not to confuse the kitten by moving it? Help! Thank you.

I just put it where I wanted it to be.
Kitten came home, had a bit of a play with us then I carried her through to the litter tray. She didn’t initially do anything but got out herself and had a bit of an explore. She just went and used the litter tray herself when she needed to go.

I wouldn’t start it off somewhere else because I’d be worried she’d still want to go to the toilet in that spot once the tray had been moved!

I also wasn't sure but ended up putting it where it was going to be eventually, he never had any issues finding it and he never had any accidents anywhere.
