So one of my cats is of course snuggled up on my lap like a boiling radiator Grin I want to get him off me sooo much but he's my boss after all so can't really argue with his superior choice of sleeping place.

Oh he looks so happy and comfortable! You have made the right call Grin

I once woke up on a really hot night with a pair of furry ear phones. They were both long haired. I got even hotter!

Pudmyboy · 09/07/2022 22:00

Beautiful boy! Hope you got to cool down eventually one he woke up!

jaundicedoutlook · 10/07/2022 22:56

Bernard has spent most of the day flat on his belly on a cool surface, like so…

He tried to come on my lap as I was watching the tennis but I had to shoo him off as he was roasting.

Mine has been crying as I won't let him sit on me
I left the fan switched on and found him asleep on a blanket on the sofa, BEHIND the fan. I give up

I did move him off me eventually and to punish me he's gone off on one of his little adventures. He usually returns after a day or so of me fretting, I try not to worry too much as he's usually just chilling with a bloke round the corner whose garden he likes. I just hope he's found shade wherever he is!

Not mine - I posted this on another thread yesterday. He and his sister have been spending the last few days stretched out on various surfaces (usually ending up on the tiles outside in the shade).
They do go a bit mad early morning though, then snooze as the day heats up.

I didn't see this and put a new thread on. Yes my two insist on lying on me all night long. They are not cats, they are lizards.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2022 18:21

I'm actually really surprised at how sensible my two have been in the heat. I've always kept Magic indoors in the middle of the day, as she's black and long haired. But she's kept her self in the shade and doesn't stay out long. 🤔😻😻😻

GuppytheCat · 13/07/2022 20:23

My dratted animal took advantage of the open windows to vanish from the house before her much-needed vet appointment. Strolled in two hours too late covered in dust and grot and stickyweed.

jaundicedoutlook · 13/07/2022 23:08

So today he was looking really pitiful and hot, so I got an ice cube and ran it down his back and head. He seemed to quite like this, but even more surprisingly, as he very rarely seems to drink anything, he proceeded to lock the ice cube (covered in his own sweat and cat hairs) like it was the most delicious thing he had ever seen.

Cats are mental.
