Has your cat embarrassed you lately? Mine has.

I was woken up this morning at 4.30am by a yowling cat. I looked out the window and I could just about make out my Dcat on a neighbour's shed roof sunbathing and yowling at another cat sitting by her on a fence.

They then proceeded to yowl at each other (loudly) on and off, from 4.30am until 8am. 3 and a half bloody hours of it!

I could see other neighbours coming out of their houses in pyjamas trying to work out what and where all the noise was coming from. Because of where the cats were I think only I could actually see them (which is probably a good thing as Dcat seemed to be the naughtiness and noisiest culprit).

Dcat, of course, completely ignored all my attempts to quietly coax her in or get her to at least stop waking everyone up.

She strolled in at 8am and has been completely flaked out asleep ever since. Yowling for 3 and a half hours waking everyone up and deliberately ignoring your owner is obviously very exhausting. 🙈

Yes! Frequently!
We've just had new neighbours move in with two very nice cars. I keep looking out and seeing our cat sat on top of their cars! I've never seen him sat on cars before! 😳

🤣🤣that’s hilarious😃

my cat is quite cool so doesn’t embarrass me but my dog…

everyday on the school run I have to pick him up at the gates - all the kids are poking their fingers through the rails trying to pet him and every day, he gets his wet, sticky pink widgy out😱😱 keep telling him he’ll get locked up!

Mine are terrible 😂 they sit on our cars, and the neighbours cars - often get themselves stuck in peoples garages, or a personal favourite, will lie in the road (it's a fairly quiet estate) in the very centre and refuse to move for cars. Revving / beeping does nothing, people have to drive around them. They've even encouraged the neighbours cats to do the same, there's often 3/4 of them holding the road hostage.

Not public embarrassment for me, but my male cat sits and hides while watching the female cat go in the litter tray. His pervy antics should embarrass him, although I suspect they don't.

i remember feeling similarly embarrassed seeing dcat going into our next door neighbour’s bedroom window particularly as they hate cats.

Tayegete · 08/07/2022 15:04

I love the cats taking over the road 😂

My neighbour didn’t realise we had a cat, and thought it was a starving stray. So she offered her milk, and then “d”cat feigned a total inability to return home between meal times, to the extent the neighbour borrowed a cat box and took her to the vet to get her microchip scanned… 😳

Shouts loudly all the time outside
Uses the zebra crossing and thinks it's funny
Drinks out the neighbours water feature
Sleeps on the neighbours trampoline

I wouldn't feel embarrassed. It's what cats do.

Our little street rescue cat had a very loud fight with a neighbours cat at 6am on Wednesday. That brought out a few people, I can tell you.

Ah yes - showing your willy to all…. We have a big dog so you can imagine we have big problems…
