Nervous cat and new baby

Any tips on how to get a nervous cat to adjust to a new baby? We got our 10 year old cat as a rescue a few years ago and he took some time to settle in. He seems fairly well adjusted now but still likes to hide in response to sudden noises, visitors or anything that's out of the ordinary. I'm worried about how he will adjust to a new baby arriving soon. He will also need to be kicked out of the bedroom (as baby will be in with us) where he currently loves to sleep cuddled up with DH. Any tips to make the transition easier? He has some history of showing nervous behaviour such as peeing everywhere in a previous household which didn't work out so hoping the new baby won't make him too anxious.

I would get him out of the bedroom before the baby comes along - that way he's used to it but it also means you're not dealing with a newborn and a noisy cat at the same time!

Play YouTube videos of babies crying to get him used to the noise. You never know, he might turn into a real nanny cat and love the bald kitten.
