Advice on travelling with cats

We have two longish car journeys coming up with our two cats. Five hrs on the first and five-six hrs on the second. They’ve barely been more than 5 mins in the car on the rare trip to the vets. So I’m not sure how they will react or behave. I heard you can get some sprays or something that you can spray the carrier with eyc. Or maybe a medicine or something. Has anyone used anything they’d recommend?

My advice would be dont, if you can possibly help it.
Obviously if you are moving house you will have to.

Feliway spray is said to help.

Perhaps do a trial run of 20 mins and see how it goes.

One of mine works herself up into a real state in the car, the other two are ok -ish.

If it's bad, the vet may be able to prescribe a sedative. That's the route I would take if I had an unavoidable, long journey with Madam on board.

I posted some advice on this thread:www.mumsnet.com/talk/uk/4558317-holidaying-with-a-cat

Thanks, we can’t help it as are moving house (and countries). I think a trial run is a good idea. On a 5 min trip to the vet our female cat was trembling but I placed her nose to nose with her brother’s carrier in the surgery waiting room and she was better.
