Trapped a stray today

I'm so pleased he's going to get the chance of a home. He has been hanging round for 3 months and stealing food from all and sundry and I have had to keep my cats in as my boy defends his territory and has had 3 fights with him.

I finally managed to find a rescue to take him and we trapped him tonight.

He's is actually quite cute and was friendly to my daughter so hope he finds someone to love him.

He always looked so sad walking up my garden.

Well done. He’s a good looking cat. I hope he finds hid forever home.

Julen7 · 28/06/2022 21:05

Well done 😘

Tbf it started selfishly as I can't afford any more vets bills! How we he always looked so dejected we really started feeling sorry for him.

Feels a bit odd now not looking out for him.

The rescue I work with and got my cats from does a lot of this. He will be vet checked, checked for a chip, vaxed and tested for FIV etc. and rehomed when he is well. You have done him a massive favour.

He has a vet appointment tomorrow. My daughter actually volunteers at the rescue 3 hours a week and they have put him in one of 'her' pens - she's quite excited to hopefully be able to see him weekly and how he is doing.

Just imagine if he's chipped and they find his owner!

Newnormal99 · 29/06/2022 17:43

@Toddlerteaplease my nightmare is that actually he is owned by someone round them corner who has just never neutered him and never feeds him and I can never let my cats out again!

That would be a nightmare

2DemisSVP · 29/06/2022 18:14

ih well done you, hope he becomes someone’s lap cat, they all deserve an easy life 🐱

pointythings · 29/06/2022 18:35

So many irresponsible cat owners around, we are inundated with pregnant and nursing females at the moment as well as entire toms dumped by their owners after lockdown. My oldest boy is one of those, got the crap beaten out of him by other cats on the streets because he's so soft. He's a loving happy boy now, sans balls but avec permanent home. My two youngest are rescue kittens, now 9 months and neutered so will never know any different, but my one girl is from a colony which now no longer exists - all trapped and successfully rehomed.

Newnormal99 · 30/06/2022 17:16

Just an update. He has been taken to the vets and has been named, chipped, neutered and vaccinated.

They said he is happy to be handled and will make a lovely pet. So a happy ending all round.

@Newnormal99 that is excellent news, you have done sterling work.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/06/2022 18:44

Great news. You've saved him from sharing a similar miserable life to Len, the one I found.

Cleanmean · 01/07/2022 12:08

He's beautiful, thank you for helping him. Hope he's adopted by a family who he absolutely lords it over.

caringcarer · 01/07/2022 12:14

You have saved him from miserable life always hungry and cold in winter. I hope his new family really love and spoil him.
