Dental advice

Hey
can anyone offer any advice regarding a senior cat having a dental under anaesthetic please? Cat has just turned 16, very healthy but doesn’t do well after anaesthetic. She had a dental a year ago which involved a good clean and 4 teeth out and she was quite sick after and struggled to eat, unfortunately after a vets trip today it looks like she now needs another tooth out and a further check as there is inflammation there again, it’s not major right now but was sore and will need sorting. She’s eating well no appetite loss but struggling with chewing certain things like biscuits. Vet has given her loxicom for a few weeks until we decide what to do as she felt it wasn’t urgent, we can either go ahead with the procedure or keep her on pain relief longer term. I’m very concerned about having the dental done again given her age but feel I owe it to her as she is otherwise healthy and happy, she’s a beautiful girl who means the world to our family and I’m just looking for others experience of having a dental at a senior age or cats who struggle after anaesthetic. We would have the blood tests before hand to check she was ok but the worry is obviously still there. Thanks
