Hi

We have rehomed a beautiful breeding male. We brought him home yesterday. Oh, he is gorgeous.

The breeder has given us 3 sachets of the probiotic, to give him 1 a day for 3 days. He did have loose stools last night. He's just done another one now and it was a tiny tiny bit more solid. But not normal by any stretch.

How long can we give him this treatment for? I can pop up to petsathome tomorrow to get more if needed. If it helps settle his tum during the upset of settling in then I'm happy to do this. He is settling so well. Very cautious but happy to be stroked.

Thoughts?

You can pretty much continue it for as long as you like really, it's just a pro-biotic. I foster and used it for 10 days straight (advice from the vet) with one young lady I had in who had a seriously dodgy tummy. Once he starts to firm up, you can just sprinkle a little bit on his food and gradually get less whilst you monitor him if you prefer. If he doesn't get properly firm in a few days though, I'd consider a visit to the vets as a cat with a dicky tummy can be problematic to get right again without more serious intervention. We also use Pro-Kalin but not sure if you have to get that from the vet.
