Mabel is Missing

I'd love some reassurance or advice about my missing cat. She wasn't very interested in the great outdoors - would only come in the garden if I was there - but I went away for a week and, near the end of the week, she obviously went out through the catflap and hasn't come back. She's now been missing between 4 and 5 days, and I'm really worried. She's quite nervy around people so if she got spooked when she got out, she would have run away, and might not have enough knowledge of the area to find her way back. I've done local facebook, leaflets through doors and have hung a pillowcase which she'd been sleeping on over the door. And have been wandering around my terrace gardens every evening rattling dreamies and calling her. My worry is that she's just sitting under a bush somewhere, too frightened to move. Is there anything else I can do??

Go out when it’s dark and shine a torch into the bushes you can get too, their little eyes reflect back. She’s probably not far.

OP leave items of worn clothing outside your house, doorstep etc. My cat went missing, I was leaving my worn vest tops & socks on the doorstep daily .... low & behold a couple of days later there she was sat next to said items ( your scent carries in the wind & their little noses pick it up ) My cat wasn't familiar with my new house though & was lost, it's worth a try though.

Hoping it works Flowers

And, she's back!! I walked down my terrace at dusk, as I have every day since she's been missing, rattling a dreamies packet, and she emerged from a neighbours garden. I shook out some dreamies and she got close enough to be grabbed. Between 4 and 6 days away, and she seems quite fine, although hungry and a bit nervy...

Great news. Glad Mabel is back with you. Wonder where she's been?
