Things we love about cats

Off the back of the babies thread this eve, I'm starting one about cats.

The blinky half closed eyes when you rub between their ears

The sound of a purr

Big stretch

The munch munch sound of dreamies being crunched

Waking up to a cat sneaking in for a spoon

The happy snore

Love all of these!

Sleepy toe stretches for me.

Ours do that stretch where the rump is in the air or the back legs stretch out .
I keep telling DD that when they get old they'll likely pass wind with the effort !

At the moment they are occupying the sofa (him) and DH work chair (her)

They've been raging all day at the rain (my fault obvs) but managed at quick scurry out to leave little wet pawprints on the floor Grin

Everything! Cats are great and they know it.

My handsome boy sits at the patio door watching the birds. He does this funny little noise, kind of sounds like he's saying, "ma ma ma ma ma" His mouth moving in slow motion. He's so weird.

Female "just being friendly"
Male "Just being dribbly"
Grin

I so love black cats. If I had a black female I'd call her Sybilla and live happily ever after.

Some specifics … one of mine is fascinated when I change hearing aid batteries. Has to sniff and watch closely (and I have to make sure she doesn’t try eating the hearing aid!) I call her the pawdiologist.

She’s very affectionate and downright clingy, and when I’ve spent a day out I’m required to spend the next day on the bed with her.

My other cat isn’t that demanding (or anxious?) but is also very affectionate and a dedicated face-washer. It’s only fair that she gets to scrape my chin with her raspy little tongue, because I have to clean her chin acne every day and she doesn’t like that at all, though she tolerates it.

I love to watch them washing their faces and one of mine, when the climbs under the covers with me and purrs 🙂

That they run up £23k vet bills and we are still putty in their paws, if they look at us a certain way!

Everything, except the worrying about their health! (Mine are indoor only, so I don’t have to worry about their whereabouts or safety.)

Being indoor doesn't stop them!! See my above post!

Haribo had to be moved off the kitchen chair by the radiator yesterday as my niece was having dinner with us and staying over. I asked my niece if she could get spoons for dessert and as soon as she's moved off her seat to get them Haribo was on it. He'd been waiting.

Yikes, your vet bills are even worse than mine! I spent a fair few thousand $ years back trying to find out what my older girl’s issues were, but nothing like that much. Bad enough having to spend a small fortune on Royal Canin Anallergenic food (a 4kg bag is over $100 now) and getting Cisapride compounded for my younger girl, who has megacolon - $100 for 100 capsules, which would be okay except she has to have two a day. But yes, putty in their paws, I love ‘em to bits!

Excuse me but why are there no photos of cats on this thread? It's the law surely? I can't post photos because my cats only identify as my cats but actually belong to my neighbour. Maybe close ups of paw beans would be ok.

Daisy right now, doing big purrs and snorgles.

Another thing I love about her: she reminds me when it’s time for her morning medicine!

Mine finally understands (aged 14!) that me kissing him on the forehead is human to cat affection and loves it. Also nose to nose boops from the younger ones.

Where’s the “love” button? Cat threads need a “love” button! 😻
