My New Cats

Hi all

I would like to introduce my two new black cats Minouche and Kishmish.

Minouche (sitting on the orange bed) is 3-4 years old and Kishmish (curled up) is 8 months. I got them on 21 May and they have been utterly gorjuss.

Their collective noun was going to be "The Voids" but, after having them for a fortnight, I now call them "The Mucky Muppets" after seeing how much of their litter tray they managed to spread across the carpet.

Minouche likes to sleep and then nap. She enjoys supervising the opening of the food pouches from the chair in the kitchen and sitting on the windowledge.

Kishmish is a bit of a tea-leaf. She has stolen my toothbrush, one of my shoes and - really irritatingly - the plug from the bathroom sink. She also knows when I want to take a photo - she was sitting in my shopping bag yesterday and I was going to take a picture with the caption "the things you find in the middle aisle in Aldi." But she moved before I could take it.

But who can be cross with anything this cute?

To second that, and to confirm there are quite a few of us here. Love your cats btw 👍

Gorgeous, but they are going to be trouble! 😂

Antarcticant · 06/06/2022 17:40

Oooh, was it you who posted about possibly adopting two 'voids' the other week? They're lovely, Minouche is the spit of my black boy with that less dense stripe above her eyes!

Yiayoula · 06/06/2022 17:42

Another black cat fan here .
Beautiful girls - are they Mum and daughter ?

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 06/06/2022 17:43

It was me, yes @Antarcticant

and yes, @Toddlerteaplease , they are trouble. They've already worked out what my alarm means. And Minouche bites my big toe if I don't get up and get busy with the Felix.....

They're not Mum and Daughter, @Yiayoula , but you wouldn't know by the way they behave. Minouche was dumped in a box with her sisters and Kishmish was rescued from the top of a bin. She was in with a group of kittens and was being picked on. So she was put in with Minouche's group and Minouche took her under her paw and taught her how to cat.

And now I am going home to see if their catnip sticks and flappy fish have arrived.😁

“ Taught her how to cat “ - love it !!

Bless you for changing their lives. 💐

Want2beme · 06/06/2022 19:43

My 2 bite my big toes every morning when I'm preparing their breakfast😬🐈‍⬛

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 07/06/2022 10:11

Well last night they surpassed themselves. I got something out of the fridge and didn't quite shut the door.

I heard a clatter and turned round to see that Minouche had dragged a roasting tin with the majority of a roast chicken in it. The were preparing to feast like queens when spoilsport ol' me grabbed it off them.

I'm not popular.

They're plotting their 2nd attack!

little beauties x

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 07/06/2022 10:47

@Want2beme

They tried to get into the fridge when I got the milk out this morning. Kishmish would have let herself be shut in the door.

@Lizzieismagic that's one yummy cat.

OMG I love it. They are fab. Are you still alive today?

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 08/06/2022 09:41

Still here.... and so is the chicken. They will have some for dinner as well.
