Cat needs biopsy for growth under tongue 😿

Just got back from the vets, my lovely 10 year old ginger boy has been drooling excessively recently. We’ve been away and our neighbours were looking after him and noticed it too. The vet found a huge growth under his tongue and he’s got to have a biopsy next week to see whether it’s cancerous. Fortunately he’s still eating and seems ok in himself for now.

Really hoping it’s benign and they can treat it, if it is cancer my googling suggests the prognosis isn’t good. Poor boy 😿

Keeping our paws crossed for him.

Just been for his post op check. It’s not good news, he’s got squamous cell carcinoma and although they could try chemo or more surgery it’s unlikely to give him much time. So taking him home and keeping a close eye but we could only have weeks left with our boy. Absolutely devastated 😔

Oh I so sorry, he’s only 10 as well! You can spoil him rotten for a time though.
