Woke up this morning to these in the kitchen. Squishy, the dark bit looked like bodily tissue.

Cat seems fine, but is definitely the guilty party.

I think it's a gall bladder. Our cats always leave a similar bit. Apparently it tastes bitter.

Or maybe they just like to leave something revolting for us to find with bare feet...

There are two though? I did wonder if they're eye balls!

A friend has suggested ticks but I've no idea how he'd have gotten them off and I couldn't see a head/legs. When I squished one there was no blood either.
